Motorcycle

Vorarlberg, located in the far west of Austria, impresses with its breathtaking landscapes, the high alpine and yet touristy mountain passes, as well as imposing reservoirs, raging rivers and deep gorges.

The Klostertal is the ideal starting point for numerous motorcycle tours. The winding alpine passes and mountain roads in and around Vorarlberg can be mastered as round trips in one day each. Several rides, each blessed with curves, great panoramic roads like the Silvretta-Hochalpenstrasse, Arlbergpass or Faschinajoch as well as cross-border motorcycle experiences make every biker’s heart beat faster.

The first trial course in Vorarlberg could not be more beautifully located: in the middle of the mountain world of the Arlberg at the foot of the Arlberg Pass: in Stuben am Arlberg. For children from 4 years. For more information, visit https://e-trial-arlberg.at

Motorcycle - route tips

Silvretta High Alpine Road

Route length approx. 170 km (Attention: toll!)

From Dalaas/Wald am Arlberg we start towards Landeck in Tyrol. Along the S16 (Paznauntal junction) through the towns of Kappl, Ischgl to Galtür. Via the Silvretta high alpine road, the journey then continues through the Montafon (Gaschurn and Schruns) to Bludenz. From there back to Dalaas/Wald.

Tour through the Lech Valley

Route length: approx. 150 km (Hahntenjoch) or 190 km (Fernpass)

From Dalaas/Wald over the Arlbergpass and the Flexenpass to Lech, Warth. In Warth turn right in the direction of Steeg. Through the Lechtal valley, the route then leads either via Reutte and the Fernpass to Imst. From there via the Arlbergpass back to Stuben am Arlberg – or, and this is our recommendation, as there is more traffic on the Fernpass in summer, turn right in Elmen towards Hahntenjoch. Over the Hahntenjoch it then goes in the direction of Imst and from there back to Dalaas/Wald.

Bregenzerwald

Route length: approx. 190 km

From Dalaas/Wald over the Arlberg Pass and Flexen Pass via Zürs and Lech am Arlberg to Warth. In Warth continue in the direction of Hochtannberg and then along the Bregenzerwaldstraße to Dornbirn. In Dornbirn you can then decide whether you want to return to Klostertal or make a detour to Lake Constance. You can then either take the highway home (bland) or simply return the tour in the opposite direction.

Small Bregenzerwald Tour

Route length: approx. 110 km. From Dalaas/Wald via Zürs and Lech to Warth. In Warth continue in the direction of Hochtannberg and then along the Bregenzerwaldstraße to Au. In Au turn left towards Damüls and via Fontanella and the Faschinajoch to Bludenz. From Bludenz we then return to the Klostertal valley.

Timmelsjoch – Merano – Klostertal Valley

Route length: approx. 300 km (Attention: toll!)
You start in the direction of Landeck (Tyrol). In Landeck then turn right in the direction of Reschenbundesstraße. Via the towns of Prutz, Pfunds (shortly after Pfunds is then the turnoff to Samnaun) and Nauders in the direction of Reschenpass. Then on to Schlunderns, Schlanders and Merano. In Merano continue to St. Martin until you reach St. Leonhard. In St. Leonhard then turn onto the Timmelsjochstraße. Via Sölden, the route then continues along the Oetztal valley to Oetz. In Oetz then onto the Inntal freeway and back in the direction of Arlberg.
